The Scottish Pharmacy Awards 2026 not only celebrated excellence across the profession, but also helped raise vital funds for Pharmacist Support through a continued partnership with PharmacyShows.co.uk.
Held on 25th April at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, the annual awards brought together pharmacy professionals from across Scotland to recognise individuals and teams who continue to go above and beyond for patients, colleagues and their communities.
Described as “Scotland’s night to celebrate excellence, kindness, collaboration and the boundless spirit of pharmacy”, the evening recognised achievements across a number of categories including Pharmacist of the Year and Commitment to Health and Wellbeing.
Representing Pharmacist Support at the event were Marketing and Communications Senior Manager Kate Westbrook and Central Support Officer Cassie Anderson, who described the evening as an inspiring celebration of the dedication and compassion seen throughout Scottish pharmacy.
Alongside celebrating the profession, the event also provided an opportunity to raise awareness and funding for Pharmacist Support’s confidential services.
Thanks to a raffle featuring prizes generously donated by PharmacyShows.co.uk, alongside the generosity of attendees throughout the evening, an impressive £1,718 was raised for the charity.
The funds raised will help provide 32 counselling sessions for members of the pharmacy profession experiencing severe mental and emotional difficulties including depression, anxiety, workplace trauma, bereavement and domestic abuse.
Kate Westbrook, Marketing and Communications Senior Manager at Pharmacist Support, said:
“It was a real privilege to attend the Scottish Pharmacy Awards. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who donated on the night and to the team at PharmacyShows.co.uk for their continued partnership and support. For 185 years, we’ve stood beside people working and studying in the pharmacist profession as they navigate through life’s difficult moments which you don’t see behind the pharmacy counter. The personal struggles. The silent stress. The burnout. The grief. The worry about making ends meet. That’s why Pharmacist Support exists and why support from individuals and organisations matter so much, as we work together to support the profession now, and into the future.”
Richard Stephenson, Managing Director of PharmacyShows.co.uk, highlighted the importance of supporting wellbeing across the profession alongside celebrating success.
“Community is everything in pharmacy, yet too many people are carrying enormous pressures behind the scenes while still turning up every day to care for others. We’re proud that the Scottish Pharmacy Awards can help shine a light on that reality and support the incredible work Pharmacist Support does across the profession. The generosity in the room was inspiring and we’re honoured to continue standing alongside a charity that makes such a meaningful difference to people when they need it most.”
Pharmacist Support continues to provide free and confidential support services to pharmacists, trainees, students and former pharmacists across Great Britain, with demand for wellbeing and mental health support continuing to grow across the profession.
The ongoing partnership between PharmacyShows.co.uk and Pharmacist Support reflects a shared commitment to supporting not only the future of pharmacy, but also the wellbeing of the people working within it every day.
