The results of the June 2026 Common Registration Assessment have been published, with 2,748 trainee pharmacists successfully passing the assessment.
A total of 3,326 candidates sat the assessment on 16 June 2026. Overall, 83% of candidates passed, while 17% were unsuccessful.
This year’s assessment marks a significant milestone, as it is the first taken by trainee pharmacists whose education and training was based on the General Pharmaceutical Council’s (GPhC) 2021 standards.
Commenting on the results, GPhC Chief Standards Officer Lynsey Cleland said: “I’d like to congratulate all those trainee pharmacists who passed the assessment this summer.
“The assessment is a vital part of the journey to becoming a registered pharmacist, providing assurance that successful candidates can apply their knowledge appropriately and make professional judgements when practising.
“This year marks an important milestone, as it is the first assessment sat by trainee pharmacists whose education and training was based on the standards introduced in 2021. As with any significant change, we will continue to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the standards as further cohorts complete their education and training and take the assessment.
“I wish the successful trainee pharmacists all the best in their future careers and encourage those who were unsuccessful to explore the options and support that is available to them on our website.”
